Robin Keleher and Steven Hurta met briefly in high school, and in 2006, after they graduated from college, their paths crossed again during the holidays at The Beach House in Old Greenwich. Robin and Steven celebrated New Year’s Eve together and discovered they had a lot in common.
On a snowy Valentine’s Day four years later, the couple went for a hike at Kent Falls State Park. Robin was photographing the frozen waterfalls when she turned around to find Steven on bended knee, asking for her hand in marriage. Justice of the Peace Cathy Savino married the couple at the Old Saybrook Point Inn and Spa, and a reception followed.
The bride, daughter of Frances and Robert Keleher of New Canaan, graduated from New Canaan High School and Miami University of Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and art education. Robin is an art teacher at the Helen Keller Middle School in Easton and is pursuing a master’s degree in education at Walden University.
The groom is the son of Victoria and William Hurta of Stamford, formerly of Greenwich. Steven graduated from Greenwich High School and received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Connecticut. He is an account manager with Flax Appraisals in Greenwich.
The couple enjoyed their honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, before returning to Norwalk, where they reside.
