Rebecca Shaw & James O’Callaghan

Above: The bridal party strikes a pose

Though Rebecca and James were friends at New Canaan High School, they parted ways for college before reconnecting again in New York City, where their relationship began. Wanting a hometown proposal, James brought Rebecca to Waveny Park and popped the question. A year later they were married in the backyard of the bride’s parents’ house under a floral arbor. The couple’s reception was reminiscent of Rebecca’s parents’ wedding, thirty-two years earlier, in her maternal grandparents’ backyard in Katonah, New York.

The bride, daughter of Jeff and Jeanie Shaw of New Canaan, graduated from New Canaan High School and Bucknell University.

The groom, son of Don and Sue O’Callaghan of Lake Forest, Illinois, graduated from New Canaan High School and the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. James works at Emil Capital Partners in Greenwich.

For their honeymoon, they traveled to Bora Bora and Taha’a in French Polynesia. The couple live in Greenwich.
