After graduation from college, Kate Elizabeth Reid’s roommate at school, Katie Ross, introduced her to a friend she’d grown up with in Norwalk, Brian Jay Rosenblum. The two hit it off immediately, but they wrestled with a long distance relationship, as Brian was based in Philadelphia, and Kate worked in Norwalk. In December of 2009, Kate found an enormous box under the Christmas tree. Inside were boxes that got progressively smaller, and in the last was the ring with which Brian proposed. Minister Deborah Cimminello of Community of Christ in Norwalk married the couple at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, New York. The ceremony was interfaith and incorporated both the Irish Catholic and Jewish religions and ended with a prayer they wrote together. A reception followed. The newlyweds surprised friends and family with a choreographed first dance to Michael Buble’s “Everything.”
The bride, daughter of Kathy and Andy Reid of Old Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and Sacred Heart University. She received a master’s degree in social work from Fordham University. Kate is a social worker at Norwalk Hospital.
The groom, son of Debra Rosenblum of Norwalk, and Barry Rosenblum of Stamford, graduated from Brien McMahon High School and the University of North Dakota. He is a pilot with Republic Airlines.
Following a honeymoon in Hawaii, the couple returned home to Stamford.
