While working at UBS Investment Bank in Stamford, Michael Zitani was introduced to Joanna Marszalek by his longtime friend from New Canaan, Patrick Hofer. Their first date was dinner in August of 2008 at Ching’s Table, when Michael convinced Joanna to join him to celebrate her birthday.
Two years later Michael invited Joanna to watch the sunset at Waveny Park, one of Joanna’s favorite spots. He waited with a bottle of champagne, and five minutes after Joanna arrived, Michael proposed. Father Eugeniusz Kotlinski performed the ceremony at the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Stamford. A reception followed at the Stamford Yacht Club.
The bride, daughter of Alina and Wieslaw Marszalek of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, graduated from Rutgers University with a degree in biomedical engineering. She is a trading assistant at UBS in Stamford. The groom, son of Marion and Ronald Zitani of New Canaan, graduated from New Canaan High School and Bucknell University with a degree in economics. He works in sales for Jefferies in Stamford.
The Stamford-based newlyweds traveled to Hermitage Bay, Antigua for their honeymoon.
