In its eighth year, the Fairfield County Concours d’Elegance has grown to be quite the national draw. This year’s featured attractions included a heartbreakingly beautiful lineup of Jaguar XK-Es (the sexy British beast now celebrating its fiftieth birthday), a gathering of Chryslers, and the usual raffish suspects rolling in from international precincts.
The field of more than 217 autos and motorcycles included three Cunningham C3 Coupes and a 2012 McLaren displayed in public for the first time. On a beautiful September weekend, the Fairfield County Hunt Club grounds provided enough eye candy to blind the average car fiend. Saturday’s CCCA Grand Classic attracted more than forty classic cars and Club Day included eight regional auto clubs.
The Nutmeg Tour had more than thirty Concours participants wind their way on a sixty-mile drive through Fairfield and Westchester counties. Sunday’s Concours attracted more than 7,500 visitors and Bonhams Auction had another fantastic year.
