Amy’s project makes progress with new garage doors, insulation—and a few tips from her picky pet, Sadie.

After reviewing a plethora of door design samples at Fairfield Garage Door Center, I select a combination of profiles to create a custom door.

Now that the garage door is installed, it’s time to test the Sommer Motor. It is so quiet you can barely hear it! A big plus when there is a room above the garage.
After a few hours, the install is complete.’
Open-cell spray-foam insulation is applied in all the wall cavities of the addition. It helps deaden the sound, and the space felt warmer instantly.
Builder Shawn Mauro reviews the electrical plan (again) after I switched to low-voltage spots from Circa Antiques at the last minute.
Sheetrock is taped and the doorway to the garage is exposed.

Sadie, Amy’s Boston Terrier, is feeling left out. She puts her two cents in on where her food bowls should now go. 🙂
