Ballet Beautiful

It was Martha Flemming’s love of ballet that inspired the idea behind Pas de Deux Bridal (the French name translates to dance for two). After a 2010 performance, the fashion industry veteran and Greenwich native took a tour backstage and was taken with the racks of dreamy tulle and embellished lace costumes. Armed with the idea to translate the looks from ballerina to bride, Martha did her research on the world of wedding wear while searching for a designer to execute her vision. When the suggestion to meet Heather Royal came from a bridal industry colleague who happened to be a former ballerina, Martha knew she’d found her partner. Heather, an accomplished designer who honed her tailoring skills at luxury bridal houses, shared Martha’s passion for creating a line of romantic and feminine looks for the modern bride.

With twenty-five pieces in their 2015 collection, Pas de Deux offers swirling silhouettes in both gowns and separates, allowing brides to create truly customizable looks. The diverse line, which includes silk organza cropped tops and Chantilly lace palazzo pants, will appeal to those looking for alternative takes on classic dresses and to brides hoping to find unique pieces for all of their wedding events.
