Like something out of a Hollywood script, Ralph and Brooke first locked eyes in the elevator of their Manhattan apartment building on one fateful afternoon. They struck up a friendly conversation and Ralph introduced himself on the ride up. He later asked the doorman to deliver a handwritten note to Brooke’s mailbox. On their first date, they went to J.G. Melon and the rest, as they say, is history. One year later, Ralph proposed in Central Park during a picnic on a beautiful spring day.
Father George Witt and Reverend Dr. James Lemler officiated at the ceremony at the Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in Manhattan. Guests were transported in double-decker buses to The Pierre hotel for the reception.
The bride, daughter of Kenneth and Marsha Mifflin of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich Academy and Vanderbilt University. Brooke works for JPMorgan Chase in Manhattan.
The groom, son of Ralph and Dolores Gaiss of New York, graduated from Fayatteville-Manlius High School, Fairfield University and Cornell University. Ralph works for Goldman Sachs in Manhattan.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Maui and Napa Valley. They call Manhattan home.
