Dream Spa & Salon

The best day spas are those that make clients feel like they’ve gone off the grid for a while. Devotees of Lori Dodd’s Dream Spa in Greenwich love the full menu of restorative scrubs, peels, wraps and more. With summer in full swing, we thought this was a good time to ask Lori to share some skin care basics. 151 Greenwich Avenue, 203-629-2525; dreamdayspa.com

START YOUNG AND DON’T STOP
“Consistency is key. It’s never too late to incorporate healthy living concepts: no smoking, limit alcohol intake and drink plenty of water. The number one thing to remember is sunscreen. It’s huge. I talk about it to everyone.” She also recommends antiaging lines, such as SkinCeuticals, which are specifically tailored to help restore and replenish more mature skin.

STICK TO A DAILY REGIME
“Cleanse, tone, moisturize, sunscreen. If you’re pressed for time, almost every cosmetic company makes a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen in it.”

WATCH THE EYES
The area around the eye is very delicate. It’s literally the first area where you see lines.” As for serums, Lori is a fan. “They are not moisturizers,” she says. “They are designed for specific targeted actions, such as Vitamin C-based products that are full of antiaging antioxidants.”
