Greenwich native and designer Katie Fong is expanding her presence in town with a new boutique on Lewis Street. Katie, who graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology and worked for Oscar de la Renta, launched her custom, made-to-measure business in New York nearly three years ago. To meet the increasing demand for her elegant garments, the new shop houses a selection of ready-to-wear while also showcasing gowns that can be fully customized. “My clients would come to me and say, ‘I have an event this weekend,’” Katie explains. “Now we have stock available to take home with you.” She is passionate about the details. All of her lace is made in France by the same company that created the lace costumes for The Great Gatsby; embroidery is done by hand in Mumbai, and Katie does some lace appliqué herself. Her collection, which is made in Manhattan, ranges from lacy blouses that pair as easily with jeans as with a skirt. Katie also creates custom wedding gowns.

Also in store are pieces hand-picked from luxury site taigan.com.
