Inside Scoop

The coolest place to be with kiddos this summer is Stamford Town Center. Stamford Moms is partnering with the mall for a slate of Summer Fun Thursday events at 3 p..m., including an interactive bubble show on July 11, a children’ s band on July 25 and acrobatics on August 15. stamfordmoms.com

Stamford Town Center is providing families with even more ways to play it cool as the temps rise with two new play areas. A new soft play area near the food court on Level 7 opens on July 26. And Angel Land, a 25,000-square-foot wonderland of games and activities for kids of all ages will occupy the space that formerly housed Forever 21.

Shore Things

Here are three of our favorite seaside spots to spend a summer day:

  • Biking, scootering or even walking around Cove Island Park is a fun way to log steps with littles in tow.
  • A picnic breakfast and playtime at West Beach is a pretty perfect way to start a sunny morning.
  • Renting a kayak or paddleboard from Cohen Soundwaters Harbor Center in Boccuzzi park makes Saturdays and Sundays drift on by.

Get to the Point

When the weather’ s just right, the hours seem to simply disappear around Harbor Point. Head to Triangle Park for a frolic on the playground and then cool off at the next-door splash pad. Follow it up with lunch or dinner at Bareburger or Fortina, family-friendly spots with something on the menu for everyone—even the fussiest of eaters. Cap it all off with a boat-spotting stroll on the boardwalk and a turn in the sand box.

Fair Play

Nothing says summer in Stamford quite like perennial fave the St. Leo Fair. Save the dates Tuesday August 27-Saturday August 31 to cap off the season with rides, games and food shared with so many members of our community. The annual event will be held (as always!) at St. Leo Parish on Roxbury Rd.
