Making small talk at an intimate gathering might ultimately lead to one of life’s biggest questions. That was the case for Kristina and Chris, who sat across from each other at a friend’s dinner party and spent the whole evening chatting. The pair exchanged contact information and were soon making plans for a table for two. Three years later, on a dock in Bridgehampton, Chris asked Kristina to marry him.
Reverend W. David Raths officiated at the ceremony at the Unfinished Church of St. George’s in Bermuda. A reception followed at Coral Beach and Tennis Club.
The bride, daughter of Alan and Virginia Marantz of New York, graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Greenwich, The New School and is pursuing her master’s at Hunter College. Kristina is a kindergarten teacher in New York.
The groom, son of the late Mitsuo Oka and Betty Oka of Monrovia, California, graduated from La Cañada High School, UCLA and the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkeley. Chris works at Angelo, Gordon & Co. in New York.
The couple honeymooned in Hawaii. They call Manhattan home.
