Meet, Greet, Sweet

At Cookies, Cocktails and a Cause, local ladies with a penchant for baking broke out their time-tested recipes, which were happily devoured by those who came to support this annual event organized by the YWCA Darien/Norwalk. This cookie swap was held at the Good Food Good Things café and boutique in Darien, where guests snacked and shopped to support the community outreach programs funded by the nonprofit organization. As for the cookie contest, it was judged by pastry chef Lori Gilmore, who awarded first prize to Mary Beth Livengood of Darien. Diane Browne Catering supplied the cocktails and hors d’oeuvres and local merchants donated $2,000 worth of prizes for a raffle.
