Out On The Town: Art, Culture and Charity Events

After a long, cold winter, your probably itching to get outside and do something; being stuck in house watching endless hours of Netflix can get boring and lonely. Now that spring is officially in the air, we’ve rounded up some events that will get you out on town, rain or shine.

Drink n’ Draw: April 2

Where: Westport Arts Center

Time: 7pm-9pm

Admission: $20

If you’ve been itching to break out your inner Picasso then this is the event for you. Sit back, relax, and let your artistic side shine bright.


Music from the Madera Winds Quintet: April 12

Where: Westport Library

Time: 2pm-3pm

Admission: Free

Why not try something new and spend a relaxing Sunday taking in the sounds of classic French composers. It will for sure give you something more interesting to talk about with your co-workers come Monday morning, instead rehashing the latest Keeping up with the Kardashians episode.


Painting Churches: April 13

Where: Westport Country Playhouse

Time: 7pm

Admission: $20

Who needs to travel to New York, when Westport has it’s own thriving theatre scene. In Painting Churches, the main character hopes to come to terms with her parents through painting their portrait.


TedxWestport Library Conference, Imagination: April 18th

Where: Westport Library

Time: 1pm-4pm

Admission: $10

Ted Talks are all the rage, and it’s great when this captivating speaker series puts on local events. Presenters include Hans Wilhelm, one of America’s foremost author/illustrator of children’s books and Kathleen Maher, Creative Director/Curator at The Barnum Museum.


Donate Life Night with Alex and Ani, April 25

Where: Alex and Ani Westport

Time: TBD

Every April is National Donate Life Month, which aims to encourage people to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor, and to celebrate those who have saved lives through organ donation. Join Alex and Ani for a night of shopping for a cause.


Westport Young Woman’s League Minute Man Race: April 26

Where: Compo Beach South

Time: 8AM

Admission: $10 for Kids, $20-$30 Adults and depends on when you register

The 37th Minute Man Race is one of the largest fundraisers for the Westport Young Woman’s League. Money raised from the race helps fund charities in the lower Fairfield County area, so why not lace up your sneakers!
