Pickle Box Sandwich Co. started its story in 2014. Founder Robert Kessner had been operating Leafline Salad Co. in Greenwich, CT for a little over a year. After getting to know his clientele, he realized that the people of the town had not only been starving for a better salad option, but that they were just as hungry for a great sandwich concept. Leafline had become a huge hit for walk in business, and also for lunch delivery to the many offices in town. Robert saw a specific niche in that fast casual lunch business and decided to expand the restaurant's offerings.
With the best salad option in town partnering up with the best sandwich concept in town, Robert’s goal was to become the corporate lunch specialist in Greenwich. At the same time he wanted to continue to provide the same beautiful and inviting environment for Leafline’s loyal walk in clientele. Robert’s goal with Pickle Box was to create as unique and delicious of a menu for sandwiches as Leafline had been offering for salads. With this new menu it was as important as ever to have a great selection of high quality ingredients, homemade spreads, and fresh baked bread delivered every morning. After months of researching, tasting, and perfecting the menu, Pickle Box Sandwich Co. was born.
