Rise and Shine: Cara Denison Captures Dawn at Cove Island Park

Every day a million miracles begin at sunrise,” said novelist Eric Jerome Dickey. Beloved Rogers International School fourth grade teacher Cara Denison agrees. Born and raised in Stamford, she began documenting Cove Island Park, just down the street from where she grew up, in the (very) early hours following her mother’s sudden death from a stroke in 2019. She posts her meditative pictures daily on her Instagram account (@carad1016). Accumulated, they feel like a journal, an account of a place, of the light, of the moments, the minutes and the hopes that punctuate our days. Here, she gifts us an August morning stunner, glittering gold.
