Rachel and William met in Manhattan at a birthday party for Rachel’s brother, Max. The couple dated for three years before William proposed on the Highline on a beautiful fall day followed by a surprise gathering of family to celebrate the newly engaged.

Although the wedding day brought sub-zero temperatures, the skies were clear and the venue, encased in windows, offered gorgeous views of the Hudson and the setting sun. Rabbi Roger Ross officiated at the ceremony at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan.

The bride, daughter of Edward and Janis Barsuk of New Jersey, graduated from Tenafly High School and the University of Wisconsin. She currently works in advertising.

The groom, son of David and Maggie McGirr of Greenwich, graduated from Brunswick School and the University of Pennsylvania. William works in finance.

The newlyweds honeymooned in the Maldives. They live in Manhattan.
