Traditionally, the holiday season is meant for friends, family, and rejoicing in the upcoming year. However, with all the stress that comes with buying the perfect gift, decorating, and entertaining, you might find yourself wishing to skip over the season all together.
The Junior League of Greenwich has the solution. It’s their annual fundraiser The Enchanted Forest, a three-day event held at the Hyatt in Greenwich, that lets you accomplish everything on your holiday to-do list, all in one festive location. Here’s how:
- Find the perfect gift at the Holiday Boutique, where you’ll find specialty vendors offering fine jewelry, home décor, toys, clothing, and other holiday gifts. (Sat. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sun. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Let the kids get in on the gift-giving action at The Children’s Giving Shop, where they can shop independently in a child-friendly environment. Volunteers will assist the children as they choose from a vast array of reasonably priced gifts for teachers, friends, and family. (Sat. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sun. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Decorate your home with one of the many pre-adorned trees available for purchase. With nearly 100 tress decorated by local florists, designers, retailers, and others, you’re sure to find a tree to fit your style. (Sat. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sun. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
- Create a centerpiece for your table at one of several gingerbread house workshops. A great activity for the family or a group of friends. (Sat. 21 and Sun. 22 at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., and 2 p.m.)
- Make your child’s dreams come true at Santa’s Breakfast, where a morning of breakfast, live music, and boutique shopping will be topped off by a photo op with Santa. (Sat. 21 and Sun. 22 at 9 a.m.)
- For the ballerina in your life, don’t miss Clara’s Tea, which includes tea, cocoa, and afternoon treats, as well as a live ballet performance and a q&a with the dancer. Festive dress is highly encouraged. (Sat. 21 and Sun. 22 at 2 p.m.)
- Shopping with the kids can be hectic. Leave them at home and enjoy the Friday Night Sneak Peek to get a jump start on all your gift and tree shopping. Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that cocktails and appetizers are served. (Fri. 20 at 5 p.m.)
- Attend the Winter Gala. Undoubtedly the crown jewel of the weekend, the Winter Gala is a glamorous night of cocktails, dinner, dancing, and many other delights. (Sat. 21 at 7 p.m.)
