Friends brought Caroline Hellthaler and James (Jamie) Clemente together. Sharing their first date in Fairfield in the fall of 2008, the two are forever grateful to their great group of friends for encouraging the couple to date.
Together ever since, the couple was engaged not long after. Jamie took Caroline to a romantic dinner at the Black Rock Yacht Club overlooking the Sound. During the sunset, he proposed and the two shared a lobster dinner before visiting with family and friends to celebrate the engagement.
The couple was married at OceanCliff in Newport, Rhode Island, by Michael Egan, a non-denominational minister. Friends and family did not have to travel far for the reception and stayed at OceanCliff to celebrate the wedding. As a surprise, the reception featured a spectacular firework show as the night continued.
The bride is the daughter of Joan and Raymond Hellthaler of Fairfield. She attended Fairfield High School, and earned her bachelor of arts in communications from Marist College. She currently works as a sales marketing manager at Initial Reaction in Fairfield.
Jamie is the son of Gail Terrell of Monroe and James Clemente of Trumbull. He attended Trumbull High School and now works as a private business owner at Fairco Recycling in Trumbull. The couple will return to their home in Black Rock after a honeymoon in Anguilla.
