Stamford Downtown kicks off the summer this year with another “Alive at Five” outdoor concert series starting Thursday, July 10. New for 2014, five is the magic number! Between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., admission is only $5. (Drinks are $5 then, as well!)
After 6 p.m., admission is $10.
On stage, across the street from Columbus Park, enjoy eight great artists this summer including:
July 10th: KC & The Sunshine Band
Known for their popular singles, “That’s The Way I Like It,” “Get Down Tonight,” and “Shake Your Booty.” Mr. Casey and the rest of his crew have flourished for over 37 years now with their music featured in over 200 feature films.
July 17: Barenaked Ladies
Once you digest the strange band name, the Barenaked Ladies produce a nice blend of rock music with their Canadian talent and are best known for their hit, “If I had $1000000” and their intro to the TV show “The Big Band Theory.” Check out their new single, “Odds Are.”
July 24: Blues Traveler, Smash Mouth, Sugar Ray
The “Under the Sun Tour” performs with a common goal of celebrating the golden age of alternative pop rock ‘n’ roll. This unique group of influential artists should be a great soundtrack for some summertime fun.
July 31: Ed Kowalczyk
With two popular albums, “Alive” (2010) and “The Flood and the Mercy” (2013) under his belt as a solo artist, Edward Kowalczyk has been working hard on his solo career after leaving his band “Live” in 2009. Listen to Ed’s new single “Seven” before you see him in July.
August 7: Jake Miller
August 14: The Beach Boys
Back at it again, The Beach Boys close out the event for the final Thursday night concert.
