It seems as though summer should be the time to get social, spend time catching up with friends & relaxing those lazy days away. While that seems oh-so perfect, many would agree that summer passes by in a pinch with sparse time for intimate social gatherings. Between summer camps, shuttling between activities & vacations, you may not have connected with the ladies as much as you would have liked. Posting or Tweeting vacation pics doesn’t count!
Therefore, why not use "back to school" as a simple yet meaningful way to reconnect with friends and kick off your own school year off in great spirits? Here are a few ideas for simple, yet fun social gatherings focused exclusively on you and your school crew!
Back to School Soiree
After you’ve run ragged finding the coolest back to school gear for your children, why not do some back to school shopping of your own? Plan an intimate shopping spree with the ladies and then go splurge on a great outdoor lunch while the weather is still warm. For a unique experience, hire an image consultant or fashion stylist for an afternoon (there are some great local professionals). Surprise guests & have the stylist pull unique items in advance and style your ladies in store. It’s a simple splurge that can make a shopping trip quite productive and fun. If shopping isn’t your thing, take over a spa for an afternoon and pamper your deserving selves while spending some genuine catch up time.
Fall Fitness
We all know those ongoing bursts of heat were not always condusive for getting outdoors for a run, hike or round of golf. With more comfortable weather on the way, grab your friends and start a weekly walk, run or hike outdoors and get in some fitness while catching up. Have sports drinks or coconut water on hand for everyone post workout or drop into your favorite smoothie shop. Want more of a challenge? Train together for a 5K or 10K race and simply make it fun. There are some great local fall races that are more about celebration than PRs. In addition, many charities have components where you can raise money or donate to a great cause in exchange for entry fees. Do a google search for local fall running races or check out articles like these
Get Back To Class
Taking classes isnt just for the kids. Utilize a few hours each month to try something fun with your pals. Try a floral arranging class as they are a great avenue for creativity. Evening classes often offer wine and appetizers to make the class more social. Ask your local floral shop about these. Have someone select a different activity each month and before you know it you’ve tried a bunch of new things. From private pilates and wine tasting to fragrance making & learning a new language, our area is chock full of exciting activities geared towards social connectivity.
Finally Friday
And finally, after you’ve put in a busy week being that great CEO of your domain, maybe you just want a simple time out on your calendar to catch up. Celebrate Friday with monthly brunches, weekly manicures or a once in awhile at home social gathering. The break is well deserved and gives you something to look forward to.
