Evan Therese O’Connell & Brian Carl Scall

Brian and Evan’s sense of adventure make them a great fit. Both avid kiteboarders, they met while on a business retreat for the kiteboarding company they worked for. They have since left the company to move to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where they opened a coffee shop called The Dancing Turtle. Five years into dating, Brian proposed on the beach across from their shop. They are now building their dream home on that spot.

Don Smallwood officiated at the ceremony on Cow Bay Beach in front of the bride’s parents’ home on Martha’s Vineyard, and the reception followed at their home.

The bride, daughter of Dan and Gloria O’Connell of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich Academy, Brown University and the University of Southern California.

The groom, son of Beth Goodfriend of West Haven, graduated from West Haven School and the University of Connecticut. In addition to co-owning The Dancing Turtle in North Carolina with Evan, Brian is a ship captain.

The newlyweds spent their honeymoon kiteboarding in Brazil before returning home to North Carolina.
