Above: Heidi and James with their wedding party
Heidi and James met at a benefit for Hudson River Community Sailing in New York, where ironically they were the only non-sailors. They struck up a conversation and discovered that they had several interests in common, including running marathons and playing squash. One year later on Memorial Day, while Heidi was preparing to go out on her paddleboard, James proposed at Mead Point beach in Greenwich. Shortly after she said yes, Heidi’s family arrived on beach cruisers with champagne to celebrate the engagement.
Reverend Michael Lindvall officiated at the ceremony at The Brick Presbyterian Church in New York, and the reception followed at the 21 Club.
The bride, daughter of Anthony Jessop of New York and Susan Ness of Greenwich, graduated from Brewster Academy and the University of Colorado. Heidi works for Natori in Manhattan.
The groom, son of the late Jeffrey Maund and Christina Maund of New Jersey, graduated from Montclair High School and Wesleyan University. James works for State Street Global Advisors in Manhattan.
The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Palm Island, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines before returning home to Manhattan.
