Mariah Healy & Daniel Byrne

Greenwich High School students Mariah Lynn Healy and Daniel William Byrne met through mutual friends and began dating during their senior year. Eight years later, Dan, as the groom is known, proposed at Greenwich Point just before sunset. The Reverend Richard Gemza, a Parochial Vicar, officiated at the ceremony at St. Mary Church, where a fire truck returning to Greenwich headquarters stopped in front of the church to catch a glimpse of the newlyweds and wish one of their own many years of happiness. A reception followed at Beckwith Pointe in New Rochelle, New York. The wedding décor followed the theme of boating and fishing. Vases were secured in place with dock line around the bottom. Tables were named after local harbors and fishing spots in Long Island Sound.

The bride, daughter of Tracey and William Healy of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and Quinnipiac University. She also received a master’s degree in elementary education at Quinnipiac. Mariah teaches second grade at Bi-Cultural Day School in Stamford.

The groom, son of Megan and Thomas Byrne of Old Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and the Connecticut Fire Academy. He is a career firefighter with the Town of Greenwich.
