Leah Rumely & Matthew MacDonald

Leah Frances Rumely and Matthew Gordon MacDonald were introduced by Greenwich resident Karyn Santora, at a fundraiser in Manhattan. Several years later, in an effort to catch Leah completely off-guard, Matt, as the groom is known, proposed on a “school night.” She’d expected to return from classes, grab dinner and hit the books. Instead, Matt was waiting at the door on bended knee. Monsignor Thomas P. Leonard officiated at the ceremony held at Convent of the Sacred Heart in Manhattan. A reception followed at the St. Regis New York.

The bride, daughter of Antoinette Rumely of New York City, and the late Paul Rumely, graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart and Georgetown University. She is pursuing her M.B.A. at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

The groom, son of Mary C. and Brian P. MacDonald of Riverside, graduated from Brunswick School and the University of Denver. He is pursuing a master’s degree in real estate at New York University.

The New York and Chicago newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Napa, California, and Hawaii.
